Birth Choices in Dunstable

If you are living in Dunstable, you might choose to give birth at home. Some women like to be in their own familiar surroundings and like the comfort of being at home and not having to travel to the hospital. You can also hire birth pools for home births if you want to have a water birth. Alternatively, you might be planning to have a hospital birth at Luton and Dunstable hospital which is conveniently located in Dunstable and offers a birth centre environment as well as a labour ward. The birth centre is entirely run by midwives for women who are considered low risk. The environment is less medical than the labour ward and has a ‘home from home’ feel to it, with an emphasis on natural birth. A birth pool is usually available on the labour ward and the birth centre at the Luton & Dunstable hospital. Speak to your midwife for more information or book a tour.
